Well holy shit, I’m 30! I have no big lessons I’ve learned, no crazy goals accomplished, no huge plans for the years ahead…and actually, I feel pretty content. 30 feels just fine – it feels grown up! I’ve always wanted to feel like a grown up haha! So, happy birthday to me!
Ever since seeing a few milk bath photos over on Pinterest I couldn’t get the idea of them out of my head! However, my bathtub doesn’t have any natural light sources, and I dislike using flash despite getting many natural looking shots using a Profoto A1 flash with great success. So, the idea of doing a sink bath came to me and that’s it – I had to do it! So, I cleaned up our kitchen sink, heated up the house since it was a chilly April’s day, and got to work! That’s real milk for those wondering, and there are a few tricks involved in getting the water to look just right. Let me tell you one thing though – my daughter now thinks the kitchen sink is her personal bathtub, and I’m on board for that haha!
My baby girl is 1 today! How did that happen SO Fast?! So, of course, I dressed her up in a fluffy pink (well technically it’s peach) tutu skirt and bought her a little matching birthday crown, and of course, she immediately proceeded to try and take off said tutu and crown. At some point, she didn’t mind the tutu, but the crown was a no-go for sure. Here are a few shots of her celebrating with loads of balloons, and a few shots of her older brothers joining the festivities later on in the day.
My baby boy is 1 and it’s time to celebrate with cake! I’m generally not a Cakesmash fan, but I thought a little cake smashing is due on this occasion. So, I set up a backdrop, baked a low-sugar carrot cake and spent an hour learning how to make butter-cream roses. My boy loved it! It was the first time he ever had anything sugary in his life, and he took full advantage of his feet to explore the situation. Happy birthday my baby boy!
